Maan ki Baat: Cleanliness by Kokrajhar morning walkers mentioned by Prime Minister

KOKRAJHAR: The cleanliness drive out by a group of morning walkers in Kokrajhar flyover recently got a mention in the Prime Minister's Maan ki Baat today. The team who used to carry out such cleanliness once a year thanked the Prime Minister for giving attention to their venture.

'Swima Athing Hanja' (a group of morning walkers) took the initiative of the cleanliness on February 20, 2022, in the new flyover in Kokrajhar in support of the "Clean and Green Kokrajhar" mission.

Over 20 citizens from various professions from doctors to professors, officers to journalists participated in the cleanliness drive enthusiastically. Most of the citizens who joined the cleanliness drive are regular morning walkers. They cleaned around a three km stretch of the road in the new flyover area.

In previous years also the team carried out similar cleanliness drives.

In his short speech on behalf of the group, Swmdwn Narzary, who is also Block Elementary Education Officer, said the group carried out the cleanliness drive to make people aware of a clean and green environment for good health and hygiene in Kokrajhar. He said keeping good health is of utmost importance and good health needs a clean and green environment. He called upon all citizens of Kokrajhar to give importance to keeping Kokrajhar clean.
