GUWAHATI: Assam Accord Implementation Minister Atul Bora and the leaders of the AASU have decided to hold talks on the Assam Accord clause by clause for their implementation.

A meeting decided the Directorate of Implementation of the Assam Accord at Khanapara here on Wednesday.

This is the second such meeting after the Himanta Biswa Sarma-led new government taking charge at Dispur. After taking the oath, Atul Bora did rush to Swahid Nyas at Uzan Bazar in Guwahati and hold talks with the leaders of the AASU.

During today's meeting, the AASU handed over two lists – one of 460 bullets injured and the other of 57 oppressed by security personnel during the Assam agitation – to the minister.

The last BJP government at Dispur did give assistance amounting to Rs 2 lakh each to the bullet injured.

Today's meeting discussed the issue of rehabilitation of the bullet injured and those oppressed by security personnel.

The previous government also paid Rs 5 lakh each to the next of kin of Assam Agitation martyrs.

The AASU was led by its chief adviser Samujjal Bhattacharjya, president Dipanka Kumar Nath and general secretary Sankor Jyoti Baruah.
