Move to extend Assam Chief Secretary’ Paban Kumar Barthakur's tenure

GUWAHATI: The State Government has moved the Centre seeking the extension of the service tenure of State Chief Secretary Paban Kumar Barthakur (IAS), who is to superannuate on December 31, 2023. Since he is an Indian Administrative Officer, any extension of his service tenure needs approval from the Central Government.
