Guwahati: Students of the Northeastern states (Guwahati Region) registered a pass percentage of 92.06 in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class-12 examination 2022, while their counterparts of the Class-10 examination registered a pass percentage of 82.23 in the results declared on Friday.
According to sources at the CBSE Guwahati Region office, a total of 52,676 students had appeared in the CBSE Class-12 examination from the Northeastern states, including Sikkim, out of whom 48,450 candidates passed the examination. Girls of the region outshone the boys by registering a pass percentage of 93.06, as against 91.88 by the boys. The institutional category-wise results of the Class-12 examination were: Kendriya Vidyalayas registered a pass percentage of 98.67; Navodaya Vidyalayas registered a pass percentage of 99.04; independent (private) schools registered a pass percentage of 97.14; and government schools registered a pass percentage of 85.32. It may be mentioned that some government schools in Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim are affiliated to the CBSE.
On the other hand, a total of 66,130 students appeared in the CBSE Class-10 examination from the Northeastern states, out of whom 54,385 candidates passed the examination. The performance of girls was again marginally better than that of boys. Girls registered a pass percentage of 82.43, while boys registered a pass percentage of 82.05.
The institutional category-wise results of the Class-10 examination were: Kendriya Vidyalayas registered a pass percentage of 97.27; Navodaya Vidyalayas registered a pass percentage of 99.13; independent (private) schools registered a pass percentage of 95.85; and government schools registered a pass percentage of 60.01.
