DIBRUGARH: "Prime Minister Narendra Modi has scripted the history by distributing free LPG amongst 8.65 crore people," said Union Minister for Port, Shipping, Waterways and Ayush Sarbananda Sonowal. "Sonowal said this at the second phase of the LPG distribution among the beneficiaries at the Aauni Ati Xatra auditorium.
"Sonowal complimented Prime Minister Modi for introducing the Ujjwala Project in the entire country for the welfare of the womenfolk that benefited over eight crore families."Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Rameswar Teli, at the directive of the Prime Minister, kicked off the project in Assam. Sonowal thanked Rameswar Teli for initiating steps in providing LPG to all those women residing in different districts and are yet to get the benefits of the Ujjwala project. "Sonowal also thanked Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for extending full cooperation in implementing the project in the state.
"Rameswar Teli, who made it to the Parliament from Dibrugarh, said that the Government would give LPG to one crore women under the second phase of Ujjala gas distribution. "A total of 65 lakh women have got the benefit of the project," Teli said. "He further disclosed that the Government has decided to appoint 6,000 LPG distributors. "The expansion of Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited (BCPL) is in the pipeline, besides the shifting of Oil India Limited (OIL) headquarters to Duliajan," he added.
