NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi posted a video on social media of himself participating in a cleanliness drive with wrestler Ankit Baiyanpuriya.

"It is all about that Swachh and Swasth Bharat vibe!" Modi said on X while posting the video. In the video, the Prime Minister was seen wielding a broom and taking part in the "shramdaan".

In a post on X, he said, “Today, as the nation focuses on Swachhata, Ankit Baiyanpuriya and I did the same! Beyond just cleanliness, we also blended fitness and well-being into the mix. It is all about that Swachch and Swasth Bharat vibe!"

Earlier, he had asked citizens to devote an hour on October 1 towards cleanliness in their neighbourhood to commemorate the Swachch Bharat campaign.

Meanwhile, Home Minister Amit Shah and Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel led the cleanliness drive in Ahmedabad during the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign.

This event was organized in response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call for a cleanliness drive, encouraging citizens from all walks of life to participate in the initiative. Amit Shah took part in cleaning efforts at the Ranip bus stop and its vicinity in Ahmedabad.

Simultaneously, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel engaged in a cleanliness programme at Laxmangarh Hill within the Ghatlodia locality, part of his assembly constituency.

Shah, in a post on social media platform X, commended Prime Minister Modi's call for collective cleanliness efforts on the eve of Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary.

“Tomorrow is Gandhi Jayanti, so let us collectively clean our streets, neighbourhoods, and public places to pay true homage to Pujya Bapu. It is also our moral responsibility to maintain the cleanliness of our surroundings. Let us all work together to realise the concept of a clean India,” Chief Minister Patel said. (IANS)
