Police Apprehends 4 Poachers in Assam's Darrang District, Arms, Live Ammunition Seized

MANGALDAI, July 22: Acting on a tip-off, Darrang Police apprehended four persons suspected to be involved in rhino poaching and seized two 303 rifles with four live ammunition, a silencer pipe, and a 9 mm carbine with magazine from their possession. The arms and ammunition were kept hidden under the ground. Sources said that the arrested persons, including two from Nagaland, were camping at Kachomari Sonari village under Dalgaon Police Station to poach rhino at Orang Tiger Reserve Forest. The apprehended persons are Nur Hussain alias Lengra (50), Abul Hussain (45), Daniel Yepthomi (28) and Alobo Kipa (23).
