Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana (PMAGY) implementation: Cachar at second position

SILCHAR: The Cachar district administration has been adjudged as 2nd in the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana (PMAGY). Last year Cachar was in the 1st position in this category. This year, the Hamirpur district in Himachal Pradesh secured the first position.

The works of PMAGY are going on at a fast pace in 62 villages in the Cachar district. The scheme provides for an 'Adarsh Gram' wherein people have access to various basic services so that the minimum needs of all the sections of society are fully met and disparities are reduced to the minimum. These villages would have all such infrastructure and their residents would have access to all such basic and necessary services for a dignified living, creating thereby an environment in which everyone is enabled to utilize her/his potential to the fullest.

Expressing his pleasure over the achievement, Silchar MP Rajdeep Roy said that the award goes as a symbol of devotion to work and dedication in this challenging situation. Cachar DC Keerthi Jalli said that the scheme helped bring in additional funds to remote villages and make them into a model villages.
