GUWAHATI: The Raijor Dal on Monday stated that they will seek justice for Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) chief Akhil Gogoi before the Supreme Court (SC). The verdict of Gogoi is being deliberately delayed by the High Court, the party alleged. Addressing a press conference here on Monday, the party stated that on the ground of parity Akhil Gogoi should have been released as three of his co-accused were granted bail in the case. However, he is still locked up since December 12, 2019, the party lamented.
"Government has tagged Akhil Gogoi as a maoist based on unauthentic statement by two approvers. They have given wrong statements to conspire against him," claimed Raijor Dal.
The party has urged the ruling Government to release Gogoi and contest against him in the forthcoming polls.
