GUWAHATI: The Covid-19 cases are increasing by leaps and bounds in Assam! The state had ten active Covid-19 cases on June 1, and the number was 104 on June 19. The number of active Covid-19 cases was seven on June 1 in the Kamrup (M) district, which reported 67 active cases on June 19.

According to NHM (National Health Mission) sources, on June 9, the state had 13 active Covid-19 cases that increased to 18 on June 10, increased to 20 on June 11 and 12, increased to 23 on June 13, increased to 33 on June 14, increased to 54 on June 15, increased to 59 on June 16, increased to 70 on June 17, increased to 95 on June 18 and 104 on June 19. Most of the cases occurred in the Kamrup (M) district, immediately followed by Kamrup.

A study of the Covid-19 graph in the Kamrup (M) district shows that on June 9, it reported 13 active cases, 17 on June 11, 12 and 13, increased to 14 on June 14, jumped to 25 on June 15, reached 36 on June 16, reported 42 on June 17, increased to 59 on June 18 and 104 on June 19.

The Kamrup district came to the scene on June 14 with nine active cases. It reported 16 active cases on June 15; reported 17 on June 16; reported 19 on June 17 and 21 on June 18.

Till June 18, Bongaigaon and Kokrajhar had four active cases each, Dibrugarh had three, Cachar had two and Darrang, Dhemaji, Hojai and Nagaon had one each.

On June 18, the authorities conducted 611 Covid-19 tests, leading to the detection of 25 new cases registering a positivity rate of 4.09 per cent.
