GUWAHATI: The All Rabha Students' Union (ARSU) has appealed to Assam and Meghalaya governments to take measures to restore peace after the Mukroh firing in the West Karbi Anglong district.

Talking to The Sentinel, ARSU president Nripen Khanda said, "Assam and Meghalaya have an age-old neighbourly and cordial relationship. And the two states share a long boundary with a mixed population of Assamese, Rabha, Garo, Khasi, Gorkha, and others. Both the state governments should take measures to restore peace."

Khanda said, "Assam and Meghalaya governments have reached agreements in six disputed bordering areas. According to the government, the two states have border issues to solve in six more disputed areas. The two governments should resolve disputes at the six disputed areas by consulting with all stakeholders."
