GUWAHATI: APDCL (Assam Power Distribution Company Ltd) has claimed its Rs 161.42-crore Anganwadi centre and primary school electrification project under the head of Sonali Shaishob Bakoshito Asom is almost complete. When asked about the progress, a top APDCL official said, "We need to electrify 1,000 more Anganwadi centres and 99 more primary schools to complete the project. We will complete the remaining works well ahead of the end of this financial year."
The official said, "The original scope of electrification of Anganwadi centres was 48,231, and the revised scope was 46,392. As of May 2022, we have electrified 41,108 Anganwadi centres. We have completed electrical works in 4,284 other Anganwadi centres but have yet to install metres. We have only 1,000 Anganwadi centres left to electrify now."
The official further said, "The original scope of electrification of primary schools was 13,503, and the revised scope was 11,280. We have provided electric connections to 10,496 primary schools. The electrical works of 685 other primary schools are over. However, we are still to install metres in them. We have only 99 primary schools left to electrify now."
The official claims that the APDCL will complete this electrification project before the end of this financial year.
