Serve retirement notices timely or face disciplinary action: Department of School Education

GUWAHATI: The Department of School Education (DSE) issued a stern order asking the directorates, district offices, sub-divisional offices, and block offices under the Department of School Education to serve retirement notices to the officials and incumbents under their administrative control before six months of the date of superannuation to avoid litigations like overstay, excess drawal, etc. The department warned that non-compliance with this order will invite disciplinary actions against the officers concerned, and in the event of any litigation and any financial liability thereof, the officer concerned, who has failed to comply with this order, has to pay.

The order said that the directorates, district offices, sub-divisional offices, and block offices under the Department of School Education have never served retirement notices to the officials or incumbents prior to the date of superannuation, who will be on the verge of retirement. The department took the matter seriously and issued the order that will come into force with immediate effect.
