GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma congratulated the students who passed the HSLC/AHM examinations. He said, "These sharp young minds are an asset to the state. Congratulations to all those who came out with flying colours in HSLC and AHM examinations. Those whose results were not up to expectations must not lose heart but keep working hard. There is still a long way to go."

Meanwhile, Education Minister Ranoj Pegu said, "The Covid-19 has impacted the pass percentage in the HSLC/AHM examinations, I believe. Especially in rural areas, due to COVID-19, students could not study well. I think that has affected the results."

Pegu further said, "Girls outperformed boys in the HSLC results of previous years. However, this year, boys have done better than girls. English medium students have performed well. They mostly made it to the top ten positions. Government schools have positions in the top 10, but the number has reduced. Cachar, Karbi Anglong and other districts have not performed well. I agree that government schools have gaps. We have decided on measures to address these gaps. We will inform the Chief Minister of the decisions soon."
