Show-cause notice to Minister Sanjay Kishan

GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has issued a show-cause notice to Assam's Tea Tribes & Employment Minister Sanjay Kishan after the latter tendered an open apology to ULFA-I chief Paresh Baruah.

Kishan has been asked to explain as to why he has tendered an apology to the ULFA-I supremo.

It may be mentioned that Kishan had earlier criticized Paresh Baruah over the suicide of an ULFA-I cadre named Biju Gogoi at one of their camps. Subsequently, Paresh Baruah had warned Kishan on May 14 to tender a public apology within 24 hours. Kishan then tendered an apology on May 15, leading to the Chief Minister's show-cause notice.
