He reportedly left the CID office at Ulubari here after five minutes.

The SP was summoned with the question paper-leak case connected with the recruitment of 597 SIs (Sub Inspector-unarmed branch) of the Assam Police on September 20. Mentionably, the Home (A) Department had transferred SP Kumar Sanjit Krishna from Karimganj on Sunday.

Police source informed that the CID summoned SP Kumar Sanjit Krishna after Rubul Hazarika mentioned his name during questioning. Rubul is presently in CID custody.

The source added that the CID may also question several other Police officials including Karimganj Additional SP (Border) Prasanta Dutta.

Meanwhile, the CID is continuing its operations to find out the owner of ATC, Akhiya Chand Baidya.

During the day, the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) in Guwahati sent one of the prime accused in the scam — Diban Deka — to judicial custody after he had completed six-day CID custody. Besides, the Court sent four other arrested persons to five-day CID custody. They are Rupam Das, Tarini Kanta Banikya, Pradip Mazumdar — all from Bongaigaon; and Manjit Bora from Kahilipara in Guwahati.

In another development, following the clues of a phone recording Nalbari Police arrested Pranab Sarma from Nalbari on Monday. Owner of Lata Pharmacy on the Hajo-Nalbari Road, Pranab reportedly demanded Rs 9 lakhs to Rs 10 lakhs from a candidate.
