GUWAHATI: The Sub-Committee on the Implementation of Assam Accord will prepare the roadmap for implementation of clauses of the historic Assam Accord.

This was disclosed by AASU (All Assam Students Union) president and member of the Sub Committee, Dipanka Kumar Nath after the first meeting of the panel here on Thursday. On October 1, 2021, the State government constituted the eight-member Sub-Committee to find out measures for the implementation of the 'Assam Accord'.

"We have discussed the issues which can be taken up by the State government and also the subjects that need to be addressed by the MHA (Ministry of Home Affairs)," Nath told media persons here.

The Sub Committee will submit its report within three months, he added.

The meeting was chaired by the Chairman of the Sub Committee Atul Bora, who is also the Minister of the Assam Accord Implementation Department.

The next round of meetings will be held with the officials within 15 days.

Besides Nath, the other penal members include Ministers Ajanta Neog and Pijush Hazarika, AASU general secretary Sankor Jyoti Baruah, AASU chief advisor Samujjal Bhattacharjya, and advisors of the students' organisation – Prakash Chandra Das and Uddip Jyoti Gogoi.
