BARPETA: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said that a task force will be formed in Assam for the eviction of encroachers from Xatra lands in the State.
Addressing an election campaign for Sarbhog BJP candidate Sankar Chandra Das at Barpeta Road Mini Stadium on Sunday, Shah said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal keep laying stress on the development of Assam. "There's overall development all over India. To continue the development trend in Assam as well, Modiji visited Assam for about 50 times as of now. However, an MP from Assam, Congress leader Manmohan Singh, forgot to come to Assam in his time. He had no time. The Congress has no responsibility to develop Assam. However, the BJP is here to develop Assam. If the BJP-led Mitrajoot makes it to Dispur again, no encroachers will be allowed to stay in xatra lands in the State.
"Moreover, the dairy firm of Sarbhog will be developed after the formation of the BJP government at Dispur. The processing industry will be made in collaboration with Amul Company."
State BJP president Ranjeet Kumar Das and Union Minister Jitendra Singh were also present at the rally.
