Three varsities to have chairs on Sudhakantha Dr Bhupen Hazarika

GUWAHATI: Each of Dibrugarh, Tezpur and Gauhati Universities will institute a chair in the name of Dr Bhupen Hazarika. Apart from this, schools and colleges will have chapters on the life and creativity of the maestro in their syllabi, official sources said.

The AASU did raise this issue in their meeting with Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday. The State Government today opened the Bhupen Hazarika Samadhi Kshetra at Jalukbari here for visitors following Covid-19 protocol. The Samadhi Kshetra remained closed due to the pandemic for a long time.
