Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari reviews Kaziranga National Park road

GUWAHATI: Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari reviewed the progress of the Kaziranga Elevated Road Project today. He instructed the officials at the review meeting to treat the construction of the tunnel as a separate project and to use the debris and muck resulting from its construction for road works. He also suggested the inclusion of viewing platforms on the elevated road, complete with vehicle parks and kiosks, to provide tourists with an opportunity for wildlife watching.

The sites for the 34 kilometres of elevated road identified by the Wildlife Institute of India are spots where animal crossing occurs.
