Voter Assistance Booths to be Set-up in Polling Station across Assam

BLOs to Assist Voters in Assam Polling Booths: Help desks christened as 'Voter Assistance Booths' (VABs) will be set up at the polling stations. Each such booth will have a team of Booth Level Officers (BLOs) & personnel of the Health department among others. Thermal scanning of voters for COVID-19 will be also carried out in the VABs. The BLOs will assist voters locate their polling-booth numbers and serial numbers of voters in the electoral roll of the polling booth concerned.

The VABs will be set up with prominent signage and in such a manner that it will be conspicuous to the voters as they approach the polling premise/building. This will be done to enable the voters to seek the required facilitation on the day of polling.

The three-phase polls are slated on March 27, April 1 and April 6 in 33,530 polling stations across 34 districts of the State.
