Elephants on the Rampage in West Karbi Anglong; Destroys Rice Kept for Distribution

Herds of wild elephants have been creating havoc in areas of West Karbi Anglong. In another such incident, elephants barged into the Menmezi co-operative and feasted on rice which was stored there to be distributed under the Food Safety scheme. Locals said that the elephants ate at least 4 bags of rice and damaged several other bags. The elephants also damaged houses of three families.
