Protest Against Move to Privatise Train Operations

Members of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangha, Bharatiya Railway Mazdoor Sangha, Purvottor Simanta Rail Karmachari Sangha staged a protest today against the government's move to privatise train operations. The government had in July this year announced that 151 trains would be operated by the private sector and they would invest Rs 30,000 crore. Only the driver and the guard would be Railway employees, rest would be employees of the private company. The demonstration was held in front of office of the General Manager, N.F.Railway, Maligaon.
