TEZPUR: The 12 Assam Independent Company NCC located at Golaghat carried out Exercise NCC Yogdan in Golaghat town from August 10 to August 31, based on a written requisition received from Bibhash Chandra Modi, Deputy Commissioner of Golaghat, to provide 50 Senior Division/Senior Wing cadets for assisting the civil administration of Golaghat district in spreading awareness on the COVID pandemic amongst the masses and measures to be undertaken by the local populace to keep themselves and their families safe.

The cadets were also tasked to enforce the directions of the Deputy Commissioner in terms of ensuring provision of water, soaps and hand sanitizers in all shops in Golaghat town. The sheer enthusiasm and initiative displayed by the cadets, Associate NCC Officers, Girl Cadet Instructor and the Permanent Instructor Staff despite the inclement weather was noticed and praised by one and all; and especially the civil administration of Golaghat.
